TO BRIGHTON APPLEFEST
The community
of Brighton is situated in eastern Ontario and is surrounded
by rich agricultural land with an abundance of apple orchards
and roadside farmers' stalls.To celebrate the bountiful apple
harvest at the height of the apple harvesting season Brighton
celebrates its annual Applefest festival in the last full
weekend of September.
While
activities encompass the whole town of Brighton, most are
centred around the main street. Events include BBQ's, entertainment,
children's activities, dances, a street fair, car show, arts
and crafts, and a parade.
Plan to join us for this unique festival.
Spend a day or take advantage
of one of the areas many bed
and breakfast establishments
or motels and stay for the entire
event or even longer and explore
our surrounding communities.
ABOUT
BRIGHTON
Brighton is located on Highway 2
along the scenic shores of Lake Ontario,
1.5 hours East of Toronto. Located
in the County of Northumberland,
Brighton offers the friendliness
and relaxed atmosphere of a small
town with a wide range of shopping. Long
known as a summer resort town, the
area offers excellent fishing, bird
watching, and camping. It is also
the official gateway to Presqu'ile
Provincial Park which
is open all year.
Local
attractions include Proctor
House Museum, Memory
Junction Railway Museum, Brighton
Speedway and numerous
attractions in the surrounding
countryside.
